RMP Choir and Orchestra’s triumphant tour with acclaimed tenor Andrea Bocelli hailed as a great success!
The RMP Choir and Orchestra recently enjoyed a wonderful collaboration with Andrea Bocelli, culminating in a huge sold-out concert at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Wednesday 2 November.
75 members of the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra accompanied Andrea Bocelli and his family on the acclaimed tenor’s East Coast Tour of Australia, performing sellout concerts at the Sydney Qudos Olympic Stadium in front of some 20,000 people, and to a similar sized crowd at the Hope Estate Winery in the magnificent Hunter Valley.
The tour featured opera highlights by the likes of Bizet, Verdi, Gounod, and Puccini and a selection of much-loved Neapolitan songs, ballads and musical theatre hits. The world’s most celebrated tenor was joined by outstanding Australian soprano Stacey Alleaume ( a previous RMP Aria finalist and runner-up), as well as his son Matteo, daughter Virginia and Delta Goodrem, Natalie Imbruglia and Amy Manford (star of Phantom of the Opera), led by Bocelli’s personal conductor, Maestro Carlo Bernini.
High praise was afforded both tghe RMP Orchestra and Choir, and we are all proud to have been able to successfully ubndertake such a high-profile project and perform in fron tof some 55,000 people throughout the tour!
