The newly formed Rudra Ensemble are an exciting wind ensemble made up of musicians from the Royal Academy of Music. The group takes its name from the Rigvedic deity associated with wind and roaring power. The ensemble is looking forward to undertaking many performances and competitions throughout the year. Rudra Ensemble play a variety of music including works by Poulenc, Ligeti, Mortensen and Ibert. The members of the group are keen educators and will be performing at children’s concerts and outreach programs to bring music to communities and inspire a love for music. Members of Rudra Ensemble are Alyse Faith (flute), Alex Thomson (clarinet), Alex Pipkin (oboe), Hugh Woolley (bassoon) and Helen Kuby (french horn).
